He graduated in Porto Superior School of Fine Arts in 1966. Since then he has been a freelance architect.
Retired professor, he has taught at ESBAP since 1972 and then at FAUP until 2009.
He was director and professor of Masters Courses at FAUP, FEUP and FEP.
He was a member of the Editorial Board of Editora da UP and FA-UTL.
He was leader of the Order of Architects, and of the Association of Portuguese Architects.
He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Porto 2001.
Author of works published in books, magazines and newspapers of the specialty and regular collaborator of the daily press.
National Architecture Award from AAP in 1987.
National Award of INH in 1993, Honorable Mention in 2002 and Prize in 2003.
Prize Fernando Belaunde Terry of the IV Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture in 2004 (Lima / Peru).
Grand Officer of the Order of Public Instruction (2005).
Councilor of the Porto City Council since 2009, currently working as a City Councilor.
