Ana Monteiro, whose detailed CV can be consulted at www.cherg.pt, is a professor at the Department of Geography of the University of Porto, member and researcher at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP), member of the Center for Territory, Transport and Environment (CITTA) and the Center for Geography and Spatial Planning Studies (CEGOT). She has a degree in geography, a postgraduate degree in Environmental Impact Assessment from the University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom) and a physical geography from the University of Porto. She has a doctorate in physical geography at the University of Porto in 1993, where she also joined in 2004. She has been National Defense Auditor since 2001. She was vice-president and president of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto between 1996 and 1998 and Between 2003 and 2005. He is a national representative in several Cost Actions and collaborates with the European Commission, having integrated the panel of evaluators of the 7th Framework Program. It belonged, between 2009 and 2015, to the Scientific Committee of the Climatology Group of the International Geographical Union. She is, since 2010, Director of the Master of Risks, Cities and Spatial Planning. She is also a member of the scientific commissions of the Doctoral Course in Geography and professor in the Doctoral Courses of Geography, Public Health (FMUP) and of Global Public Health (FMUP / UNL). She has been a guest lecturer in several national and foreign universities. She has been coordinator and researcher in more than 30 national and international scientific research projects funded by the Foundation of Science and Technology, European Science Foundation, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Luso-American Foundation for Development, NATO, University of Porto, University of São Paulo , State University of São Paulo, CNRS, Ministère des Affaires Etrangères Français and British Council. Since 1983, she has been teaching and conducting research in the areas of urban climatology, bioclimatology, agroclimatology, environmental impact assessment, atmospheric pollution, geopolitics, health and quality of life and urban planning, seeking, whenever possible, transfer the results of her research to the society as they express the 20 books and chapters of published books, the 50 articles in national and international magazines and the approximately 100 summaries in national and international proceedings. She advised and coordinated more than 50 post-doctoral students, doctoral and master's degrees, both nationally and internationally, in the area of strategic environmental assessment. She participated in community service, in particular in the field of environmental impact assessment, strategic environmental assessment and the definition of sustainable spatial planning policies.
