Stepping out / Civil Engineering Live - Guided tour to the technical bridge deck of Ponte Luiz I

So that the underground could circulate over the Luiz I Bridge it was necessary to make a series of interventions to reinforce its structure which is monitored by FEUP. The Engineer Vítor Silva, from Metro do Porto, responsible for this work, and the Engineer Joaquim Figueiras, from FEUP, will reveal how this works took place during the intervention and how they have been monitored.

Note 1: it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Note 2: the guided tour to the technical bridge deck of Ponte Luiz I is not accessible to persons with reduced mobility or with dizziness symptoms.

Note 3: the Stepping Out activities aim at the general public. For any participation covering another area, an authorisation must be requested detailing the purpose of that visit.
